Long covid echo for oregon clinicians
Purpose: Supporting clinicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals working with patients who are living with Long COVID
Audience: Oregon clinicians practicing in Baker, Umatilla, Wasco, Gilliam, Hood River, and Sherman will be prioritized for participation as well as those serving older adults, Latino popultions, and those working in medically underserved communities. Other clinicians will be accepted into the program as space allows
Sample topics: Neurocognative effects of Long COVID; care coordination for Long COVID patients; physical therapy protocols; pharmacology for Long COVID; mental health and Long COVID; trauma-informed care
Schedule: Thursdays, 12 - 1 p.m., September 15 - December 8, 2022
Team-Based Adult Mental Health
Purpose: Building the capacity of primary care clinicians and clinical team members to effectively manage common mental health conditions in adults
Audience: Oregon clinicians and clinical team members practicing in Baker, Umatilla, Wasco, Gilliam, Hood River, and Sherman will be prioritized for participation as well as those serving older adults, Latino popultions, and those working in medically underserved communities. Other clinicians will be accepted into the program as space allows
Sample topics: Major depressive disorder; suicidal ideation; bipolar disorders; anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ptsd, eating disorders
Schedule: Wednesdays, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., September 14 - December 7, 2022
Whole-Person Care for Children and Youth in Foster Care
Purpose: Enhancing the ability of primary care clinicians and healthcare team members to provide whole-person care to children and youth in foster care, with attentiveness to the factors that drive health inequities for those children and youth with a history of child welfare involvement
Audience: Primary care teams, including prescribing clinicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nurse care managers, behavioral health specialists, administrators, and quality improvement specialists
Sample topics: Trauma responses; cultural isolation and the importance of representation; differential diagnosis and misdiagnosis; oral health in foster care; cultural considerations for trans-racial fostering; transition to adulthood
Schedule: Second and fourth Thursdays, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., September 13, 2022 - March 28, 2023
Integrated Behavioral Health for pediatric populations
Purpose: Building the capacity of peiatric care practices to proved high-quality integrated behavioral and developmental health services for younger children and adolescents
Audience: Pediatric care teams, including prescribing clinicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nurse care managers, behavioral health specialists, administrators, and quality improvement specialists
Sample topics: Understanding BHC work; asthma, relational health, body positivity, sleep, supporting transgender youth, depression and mood disorders
Schedule: First and third Wednesdays, 12 - 1 p.m., September 21, 2022 - March 15, 2023
Geriatric Care in an age-friendly Health system
Purpose: Build primary care capacity to diagnose and treat common outpatient geriatric patient care issues
Audience: Primary care teams, including prescribing clinicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, nurse care managers, behavioral health specialists, administrators, and quality improvement specialists
Sample topics: Dementia; sleep management; deprescribing high-risk drugs; pain management in older adults; depression; age-friendly mobility
Schedule: Second and fourth Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., September 13, 2022 - March 28, 2023
Nursing Facility Behavioral Health Pandemic Impact
Purpose: Developing more knowledgeable, skilled and confident nursing facility staff who are well equipped to deliver person-centered care to address residents’ mental health concerns and behavioral issues.
Audience: Nursing facility staff; registration by invitation
Sample topics: Managing pandemic-related anxiety and depression; conducting psychosocial assessments; enhancing coping skills for nursing facility residents and their families; resident autonomy in decision-making
Schedule: First and third Wednesdays, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m., September 14, 2022 - March 1, 2023
Pain management and Substance Use DIsorder in Dental Settings
Purpose: Build the capacity of dentists and their teams to identify and manage patients with oral pain or substance use disorders in the dental setting
Audience: Dentists and other dental professionals
Sample topics: Patient experience of dental pain; identifying patients with substance use disorder; pharmacological and non-pharmacological alternatives to opioids; safe and unbiased prescribing; difficult conversations
